Project:  Seawall Erosion Repair
Location:  Treasure Island, FL
Details:  Client has continually experienced soil loss on the land side of their seawall.  There were 2 primary areas of soil loss.  One large void which formed under the walkway, causing settlement of the pavers, and a second void at the property corner where their wall meets their neighbors’ wall.   During our initial inspection we found there were a number of open joints between the concrete seawall panels which allowed soil loss during each tide cycle and during rain events.   We sealed the land side of each joint with our single component polyurethane chemical grout.   This strengthens and seals the wall, stabilizes the soil, and fills voids.   Lost soil was replaced and we installed filtered weep drains to alleviate hydrostatic pressure while preventing future soil loss.  Joints received a cosmetic non-shrink grout on the water side.
